Before we improve familiarised with Joseph, let us take a fast peek at some background info. It'll help if you remember that his autobiography falls smartly into 3 distinct segments.

In this time Joseph's family was in transition-everyone was upset, on the go. A low-level bitterness was brewing as his family clashed and disagreed in envy and loathing. This second segment occurs as Joseph reaches young manhood. It appears like his life becomes beyond control. Joseph's last 80 years are years of wealth and reward under God's blessing. Who can forget the impact of the truths lived out in the lives of David and Esther, of Moses and Elijah, of Peter and Paul? It isn't possible to leave truth in the unproven realm when you see it said in the lives of real-world girls and men.

that's what these divinely galvanized autobiographies do ; they distill truth and weave it into the fabric of everyday living. God's training manual is brim-full of lives that induce and teach. This reference to'earlier times' incorporates all the truths drafted in the Old Testament. Each of our children grew to become a self-sustaining, responsible servant of Jesus Christ, in their own way. Some of you reading these words didn't release your kids in this fashion. God didn't find pleasure in making you endure such grief.

The malevolent want of a world that has been twisted by sin took your kid from you. He abhors it so much that He sent His Boy to break death by dying and rising again. Death is sometimes known as in the Scriptures our'last enemy' ( one Corinthians 15:26 ).

that is what these divinely galvanized autobiographies do ; they distill truth and weave it into the fabric of everyday living. This reference to'earlier times' incorporates all the truths written in the Old Testament. And if I read this verse correctly, there are two basic reasons God has let us to have the Old Testament available for study and application : first, for present instruction, and 2nd, for future hope. God has given us this info so that our minds can learn the truth about Him and about life, and so we're going to be inspired to insist in the future. Ultimately, the Lord will have the final word in this battle against noxious, and He spoke that word to us through Jesus Christ. Whether we lose our kids by crisis or design, this much is true : Anything we hold dear, we must find out how to hold loosely.

Human instinct would have us clutch the stuff we like most. Releasing them, presenting them to God, specifies that we trust Him to do what's right. When we do this for our youngsters, the lasting impact we leave is a practical model of religion. And I will think about no better way to coach our youngsters about the God we worship than by modeling our trust in Him daily. Stan Berg
